The new (opened in March, 2006) Kanazawa JR station is truly an aggressive architectural, artistic statement combining traditional Japanese themes.

When my wife and I first stepped out of the main building (it was evening) we were awestruck by the beautiful, massive, modern, interpretive Torii that stood before us.

Awstruck? ... Actually it blew us away.

Take a look at this beautiful station.
